Hi! I’m Carrie!

I am a Registered Dietitian, mother, volunteer, soccer coach, and lover of all things nutrition. Back in college I struggled with health issues including fatigue and poor immunity, and began searching for solutions in food and nutrition. Through research and experimentation, I was amazed that I could improve my body’s functioning through my diet! 
I initially obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Emory University, however I knew that degree wouldn’t lead to my dream career.  With my interest in nutrition still strong, I completed a certificate program in holistic nutrition from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.  I followed that up with a didactic program in dietetics from Hunter College and then a rigorous clinical internship though several hospitals in NYC.  I was now officially a registered dietitian!
After several years working at hospitals, I joined a private practice of dietitians counseling clients for weight loss, diabetes, high cholesterol, heart disease, autoimmune conditions and more. I completed a certification in Weight Management through the Academy of Nutrition.  I specialized in weight loss as well as gastrointestinal issues including IBS, IBD, and GERD. I am listed as a recommended dietitian by Kate Scarlata for implementing the low fodmap diet.
I am so excited to be on the Shana’s team and look forward to helping our clients not only reach but exceed their health and wellness goals through this unique diet program. 
Carrie has given me the 4 things I was missing and needed to be successfully in my weight loss journey: Accountability, Confidence, Consistency and a Manageable Meal Plan. I lost 15 lbs within the first three months of working with Carrie  and lost 2 more lbs this past moth and I plan to keep going. The high fiber low carb diet is a game changer and the education Carrie provides has been pivotal to my success. Knowing I can check in with Carrie anytime I need gives me the confidence to stay consistent. And if I slip she reminds me that its marathon and not a sprint. I feel confident I have lost this 17 lbs for good and I can’t wait to turn it into 27 lbs. Carrie is easy to talk to, never judges me, and is a great listener.  I look forward to working with Carrie into 2023 as I set new goals and she helps me achieve them!
